The Barbados Yacht Club is another famous institution on Bay Street. Founded in 1924, the club promotes and facilitates sailing in Barbados and is a social meeting place. Visiting yachtsmen are welcomed at the Club and are given seven days complimentary membership.

Bay Street is located along a fabulous stretch of beach, and the calm waters are ideal for swimming. Carlisle Bay, a historic crescent-shaped bay, reportedly has 200 wrecks and is the ideal wreck-diving location. There are four wrecks which are of particular interest - the Berwyn, Eilon, C-Trek and Fox. At this incredible dive site divers can look for tropical fish, eels, frog fish, seahorses and more! Several dive operators conduct dives in Carlisle Bay.
